TaylorMade Hi-Toe 5 wedges combine forged carbon-steel heads, full-face grooves and five sole grinds for different style and turf conditions.

What You Should Know: The redesigned Hi-Toe wedges combine a forged construction with TaylorMade’s latest groove technology, while five grinds let golfers prioritize versatility, forgiveness or performance from tight lies.

The Deep Dive: TaylorMade introduced its first Hi-Toe wedge as a specialty club in 2018 for golfers who liked to open the face and play creative shots around the green. Over time, the popularity of the distinctive high-toe shape and grooves that extend across the face turned it into a full wedge family. With the Hi-Toe 5, TaylorMade has retained those familiar traits but changed how the club is made, forging each head from soft carbon steel for the first time.

Forging, instead of casting, should give the Hi-Toe 5 a softer, more responsive sensation at impact, but the shape remains the feature golfers will notice first.

Compared with a traditional teardrop-style wedge like the MG5, the Hi-Toe 5 has an expanded toe and a larger overall profile. It also has the highest center of gravity in TaylorMade’s wedge line, which should allow it to help golfers produce a lower, more-penetrating flight with plenty of spin. That combination should appeal to golfers who want to flight scoring shots down or who prefer seeing more hitting area when they open the face.

TaylorMade’s saw-milled grooves extend from heel to toe instead of stopping near the edges of the conventional hitting area. The milling process creates steeper groove walls and sharper internal radii, which are intended to increase friction.

The face of each Hi-Toe 5 is left raw, so it will rust over time, while laser-etched Spin Tread channels are designed to move water away from the impact area. Think of them as tiny tire treads: In damp rough or morning dew, they should help preserve more friction between the ball and face.

The Hi-Toe 5 wedges are available in five different sole grinds:

ATS (50-60 degrees): This grind has a four-way cambered sole and is the all-purpose option for golfers who play shots with the face square, open or closed.
ATV (58, 60 degrees): The ATV combines a concave sole, a beveled leading edge and more bounce when square than when open.
ATX (58, 60 degrees): Ideal for golfers with a steep angle of attack, this option features three sole ledges to help the club enter the turf, remain stable through impact and exit cleanly.
ATW (56-60 degrees): The wide, high-bounce grind should be the most forgiving option from soft turf and greenside bunkers.
ATC (58, 60 degrees): A low-bounce option offered as a right-handed custom option, ATC has a narrow sole and reverse-C trailing edge for golfers who play in firm conditions and who tend to sweep the ball off the turf.

The Hi-Toe 5 and the 2025 Milled Grind 5 share a forged carbon-steel construction, saw-milled grooves, a raw face and Spin Tread technology. The key differences are shape and intended use. MG5 has a compact, traditional teardrop profile and grooves confined to the standard hitting area, while Hi-Toe 5 is larger, has an elevated toe and carries grooves across the entire face. Golfers who prefer a conventional look on full swings might favor MG5 in their lower lofts, then switch to Hi-Toe 5 in higher lofts for more face area and versatility around the green.

Stock Hi-Toe 5 wedges have an Aged Copper finish, but Satin Chrome is available through custom order.

TaylorMade’s MyHi-Toe 5 program offers players four additional finish choices, along with text personalization text, logos, paint fills and custom ferrules. MyHi-Toe wedges start at $249.99 each.

Bettinardi Golf Introduces Two New Putter Models Developed In Collaboration with Matt Fitzpatrick

The putters Fitzpatrick trusts on Tour, now available to golfers worldwide for the first time.

Tinley Park, Ill., — Bettinardi Golf announced the release of the BB1 Fitz Flow (BB1 FF) and the BB48 Fitz (BB48-F), two new putters based on the models Matt Fitzpatrick trusts on Tour, now making their way from the Tour truck to your bag for the first time.

Known for his meticulous approach to the game, Fitzpatrick has long prioritized face milling and roll characteristics in his putters. Earlier in his career, he relied on a specific groove profile that was no longer in production, leading him to search for a long-term solution that would meet his standards. Through a mutual connection, Sam Bettinardi reached out to Fitzpatrick’s camp to offer Bettinardi’s precision milling capabilities out of Tinley Park, Illinois. What followed was an extensive development process, with Bettinardi producing more than 30 prototypes until they achieved the exact look, feel, and face milling Fitzpatrick demanded.

The result is the Fitz Face, a semi-circular milling pattern engineered at the optimal tool size and depth to deliver his preferred feel and roll.

A 5-time PGA Tour winner and Major Champion, Fitzpatrick has also won the Valspar Championship, the RBC Heritage, and the Zurich Classic team event this season with his Bettinardi Tour putter in play. For the first time, golfers worldwide can access Fitzpatrick’s Tour-proven models and experience the setup behind one of the most dominant performances in the game.

Each model is one-piece milled from 303 Stainless Steel just outside Chicago, Ill. to 350 grams. Both incorporate Fitzpatrick’s preferred rolled topline and TourTone finish, a dual Black Armor and Diamond Blast combination paired with a thin sightline that provides contrast and a precise alignment reference at address.

The BB1 Fitz Flow (BB1 FF) is built on a classic blade profile with a thinner flange line and a flow neck, delivering moderate toe hang for players with a moderate arc in their stroke. The BB48 Fitz (BB48-F) applies those same standards to a symmetrical, face balanced mallet profile, featuring a spud neck with a double bend shaft that’s best suited to players with a straight-back, straight-through, or slight arc in their putting stroke.
